Amazon and Barnes & Nobles may have gotten all the buzz around their devices in the past few months. But Sony has been building up its e-book reader line-up nicely. The company now has introduced three new e-book readers to compete with other companies in this field. Sony PRS 900 BC is the latest creation of Sony that is not only touch friendly but also efficient in power management.
Sony PRS 900 BC not only comes with a larger screen in comparison to Amazon Kindle 2 and Nook, it also is more energy efficient. You get to use your e-book reader for 2.5 weeks per charge. One can’t discount the role that its E-Ink Vizplex touch-screen display in that department. So what’s all the fuss about in regards to E-ink Vizplex? You won’t have to look further than E Ink’s official page:
Vizplex is the latest generation of E Ink’s microencapsulated ink imaging film. The Vizplex imaging film is designed for high performance and to be the most visually attractive active matrix electronic paper display (EPD).
The new Sony Reader is not only super thin (only 0.6″), it also comes with 3G wireless functionality to let its users download books on the go. Probably something Sony should have introduced sooner, but it’s never too late. E-book readers are not as eco-friendly as they could be, but they still make a difference. Sony’s new e-book reader just gives consumers yet another option in this field, which is always a good thing.
